Meet Jessica, LVT, VCC

Licensed Veterinary Technician & Certified Cannabis Counselor

Jessica is a valued member of our veterinary team who has taken her passion for animal health and safety one step further by becoming a Certified Cannabis Counselor.

Her approach is centered on harm reduction, which means helping pet owners understand the products they're considering or already using, identify potential risks, and make informed decisions about their pet's health.

Jessica's goal isn't necessarily to recommend CBD. It's to help you determine whether it may be appropriate for your pet and understand the safety considerations involved.

Whether you're exploring CBD for the first time or have been giving it to your pet for years, Jessica offers a knowledgeable, judgment-free place to ask questions.

Curious about CBD for your pet? Already using it and wondering if you've made the right choice?

CBD and cannabis-derived products have become increasingly popular among pet owners. However, not all products are created equal, and understanding their potential benefits, risks, and limitations can be confusing.

At Pyramid Veterinary Hospital, we believe informed decisions lead to better care. That's why we're pleased to offer individualized CBD and cannabis counseling with Jessica, LVT, VCC, our Licensed Veterinary Technician and Certified Cannabis Counselor.

Already using CBD? Bring your bottle and your questions!

CBD products can vary significantly in quality, concentration, ingredients, and THC content. Some products may contain ingredients that are inappropriate or potentially harmful to pets.

CBD may also interact with certain medications, and a pet's individual health conditions can influence its safety.

During a consultation, Jessica can help you:

  • Understand product labels: Learn about CBD concentrations, ingredients, THC content, and product quality.
  • Identify potential risks: Discuss possible medication interactions, side effects, and other safety concerns.
  • Review products you're already using: Better understand what's in the bottle and what questions to ask about its quality.
  • Explore whether CBD is appropriate: Consider your pet's individual circumstances in coordination with your veterinarian.
  • Make informed decisions: Gain practical information without pressure to purchase or use CBD.

Your appointment is a dedicated opportunity to discuss your pet's needs and your questions about CBD or cannabis-derived products.

We encourage you to bring any CBD products you're currently using or considering, including the packaging or photographs of the labels. Please also have a current list of your pet's medications and supplements available.

Jessica will review your concerns, discuss relevant safety information, and help you better understand the considerations involved.

Your consultation also includes follow-up conversations for the same pet for one year, allowing you to ask additional questions as they arise.

Each pet requires an individual consultation.

No. Pyramid Veterinary Hospital does not sell CBD products.

Our counseling service is focused on education, product awareness, and harm reduction, not product sales.

Our priority is helping you make informed choices for your pet.

CBD counseling is intended to complement, not replace, your pet's regular veterinary care.

Jessica works in coordination with our veterinarians to help clients understand potential risks and safety considerations. Medical diagnoses, treatment decisions, and changes to prescribed medications remain under the direction of your veterinarian.

If your pet is experiencing new symptoms, worsening pain, anxiety, mobility changes, or other health concerns, a veterinary examination may be recommended before considering CBD.

Request a CBD & Cannabis Counseling Consultation

CBD and cannabis counseling is an educational, harm-reduction service. CBD is not appropriate for every pet, and evidence supporting its use for specific conditions remains limited. Counseling does not replace veterinary diagnosis or treatment.
